Hostess – Guest Reception at Hotel Restaurant

About the role

The Hostess creates a warm and welcoming first impression for guests by greeting, seating and managing restaurant reservations. This role ensures an organized flow of service and contributes to overall guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their assigned tables.
• Manage restaurant reservations, cancellations, table assignments and special requests.
• Maintain accurate knowledge of restaurant layouts, operating hours, menus, promotions and hotel services.
• Answer telephone enquiries professionally and according to service standards.
• Monitor guest flow, organise waiting lists during busy periods and anticipate guest needs.
• Conduct table visits and coordinate with the team to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Maintain a clean, organized and well‑presented hostess desk and dining area.
• Support menu preparation, cashiering procedures and overall restaurant operations when required.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Hostess or in a similar food‑and‑beverage role.
• Good verbal communication skills in English; additional languages (Arabic, Russian) are an advantage.
• Strong guest service orientation with a pleasant, professional and well‑groomed appearance.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service and basic computer skills.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays as operational needs dictate.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, organised hostess area and adhering to food safety, hygiene and health‑and‑safety procedures.
