Hotel Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Luxury Collection hotels and resorts of Marriott International are looking for a technician who responds to guest repair requests and keeps the property running smoothly. The role covers maintenance, basic repairs, painting and minor carpentry, and requires a driver's license.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests and customers to resolve maintenance issues
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines, and identify, locate and operate shut-off valves and utility shut-offs
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and replace light bulbs and A/C filters
• Test, troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing (plunge toilets, unclog drains), electrical components, lamps, switches and outlets, and other guestroom items
• Program TVs, perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties
• Use the Lockout/Tagout system before any maintenance work
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping and sprinklers
• Input air handler schedules and make temperature changes on computers
• Follow safety and security policies, complete safety training, and welcome and assist guests

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus
• No supervisory experience required
• Driver's license

• Basic knowledge or ability to learn air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation and building basics
• Basic computer skills
