HSE Inspector - Equipment

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company active in oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical and energy transition projects, is hiring a full-time HSE Inspector for Equipment at the Taziz Methanol Project in Abu Dhabi. The inspector manages and tracks inspections of heavy equipment, lifting machinery, construction vehicles and light vehicles at site.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of heavy equipment, lifting machinery, construction vehicles and light vehicles to ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
• Verify third-party certificates, operator licenses and equipment documentation before site mobilization.
• Maintain an up-to-date inspection register for all equipment deployed at site.
• Identify defects, unsafe conditions and non-compliance issues and report them immediately to the HSE and Construction teams.
• Recommend removal from service of defective or uncertified equipment.
• Participate in incident investigations related to equipment failure or lifting operations.
• Support audits and client inspections by keeping equipment records readily available.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with lifting procedures and project safety requirements.
• Promote Stop Work Authority when unsafe equipment conditions are found.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• LEEA certification is mandatory.
• Client-specific project experience, depending on the work location, is highly preferred.
• Project-based safety control experience in the oil and gas industry, EPC projects or petrochemicals.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of lifting plans and rigging practices.
• Entry Certificate from the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA, UK) plus at least two of the listed diplomas (e.g., Lifting Gear General, Lifting Machines Manual, Mobile Cranes).
• Competent knowledge of HSE, documentation and presentation.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
