HSE Inspector – Health, Safety & Environment

About the role

The HSE Inspector will ensure compliance with local, legal and international health, safety and environment standards at the project site, implementing and maintaining HSE management systems.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with local legal, contract and project HSE requirements and communicate policies to all employees.
• Conduct daily inspections of high‑risk activities and monitor adherence to safety standards.
• Implement and enforce risk assessments and the permits‑to‑work system for all site personnel.
• Guide waste‑management practices, including segregation, reduction, reuse and recycling.
• Maintain and monitor the scaffold tag system.
• Engage with the workforce on HSE matters and record actions in the online system.
• Inspect and record the condition of fire equipment, plant and machinery.
• Provide safe access, housekeeping and appropriate safety signage together with the operations team.
• Enforce proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Administer and enforce all established HSE policies across the site.
• Report any violations and liaise with subcontractors’ HSE officers and engineers.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably with established contracting firms in the GCC.
• Basic safety qualification.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and shift work in a manual/workshop environment.
• Strong knowledge of HSE standards, operational hazards and international regulations.
• Proven ability to influence employees and implement HSE tools independently.
• Self‑starter with high initiative, capable of conducting risk assessments and recommending improvements.
