HSE Officer – Health & Safety

About the role

WISE Indian Private School in Umm Al Quwain is seeking a qualified HSE Officer to ensure a safe learning and working environment for students, staff, and visitors. The role involves managing risks, preparing emergency plans, delivering safety training, and ensuring compliance with UAE regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update risk assessments and emergency response plans for the school.
• Conduct HSE awareness sessions and safety training for staff.
• Maintain safety signage, emergency equipment, and fire safety arrangements.
• Organise and lead fire drills, evacuation exercises and safety awareness programmes.
• Record and report incidents, inspections and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate corrective actions with relevant departments and liaise with Civil Defence, municipality officials and other authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or a related field.
• NEBOSH certification (mandatory).
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of UAE health and safety regulations and fire safety requirements.
• Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, administrators and maintenance teams.
• Immediate availability or short notice period.
