HSSE Advisor I – Fabrication Yard

About the role

Petrofac is seeking an HSSE Advisor I to support health, safety, security and environment activities at its fabrication yard. The role involves developing and implementing HSE plans, delivering training, and ensuring compliance with company and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in creating HSE plans that meet corporate policies and client specifications.
• Organise and deliver training, toolbox talks, emergency response drills and HSE inductions.
• Investigate accidents, close out investigation reports and disseminate lessons learned.
• Oversee day‑to‑day HSE activities within the assigned area and support implementation of HSE components.
• Develop project‑specific HSE procedures and conduct regular inspections, audits and monitoring.
• Apply hazard identification and risk assessment processes, ensuring controls are ALARP.
• Promote HSE awareness through campaigns and participation in compliance audits.
• Perform any additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (4 years) or Diploma (3 years) from an accredited institution.
• NEBOSH IGC or equivalent qualification.
• Lead or Internal Auditor certification for ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001.
• Minimum 5 years HSE experience, with at least 1 year in construction, fabrication, installation or commissioning within oil & gas or petrochemical sectors.

Required skills

• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent.
• ISO 45001 Lead/Internal Auditor competence.
• ISO 14001 Lead/Internal Auditor competence.
• Ability to conduct HSE orientation, induction and awareness sessions.
• Proficiency in hazard identification and risk assessment methodologies.
