Income Reconciliation Accountant

About the role

Join a mission‑driven organization as an Income Reconciliation Accountant, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of high‑volume digital payment transactions across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Recommend and manage income platforms and payment gateways, reconciling donations, grants, and other payments from Stripe, PayPal, Global Payments, and BBMS.
• Record revenue, fees, and journal entries promptly in the accounting system and keep CRM data aligned.
• Prepare annual donor contribution statements and support donor communications and assurance activities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax rules, donor obligations, and internal policies.
• Provide documentation for audits, assist with period‑end closing, and supply revenue data for management accounting.
• Improve accounting systems, reporting processes, and data structures for greater accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop reconciliation reports, analysis packs, and financial controls using Excel, Google Sheets, and related tools.
• Identify automation opportunities, create templates, dashboards, and process documentation to reduce manual errors.
• Collaborate with fundraising and finance teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain consistent records across platforms.

• Effective communication and collaboration abilities across finance and fundraising functions.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets for complex reconciliations and reporting.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or Power Query for data analysis and visualization.
• Familiarity with Sun Accounting or comparable ERP systems such as NetSuite.
• Knowledge of IFRS and exposure to international accounting frameworks is desirable.
