Indirect Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to lead VAT compliance and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of clients in the UAE. The role involves overseeing monthly, quarterly and annual VAT filings, providing strategic tax advice, and managing a team of associates.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual VAT compliance for a portfolio of clients across various industries.
• Conduct comprehensive VAT Health Checks and prepare detailed reports with findings and recommendations.
• Prepare VAT advisory notes, technical memos, clarifications and other client deliverables.
• Maintain accurate VAT return workings and documentation (FAF) to support all tax filings.
• Provide timely ad‑hoc tax advisory services and handle litigation processes, including reconsideration applications and penalty waiver requests.
• Operate the FTA portal for VAT registration, amendments, voluntary disclosures and technical clarifications.
• Analyze ESR applicability and assist with preparation and submission of ESR notifications and reports.
• Review and guide work of senior and junior associates, ensuring quality and accuracy.
• Coordinate communication with clients, conduct training sessions on UAE tax law updates, and identify opportunities for new client acquisition.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of relevant experience in Indirect Tax, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• CA / ACCA / CPA or Master’s in Tax or Finance preferred.
• Strong understanding of UAE VAT Law, FTA portal operations, ESR regulations and practical litigation experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present complex information clearly.
• Strong team management, review and delegation abilities.
• Proven capability to build trusted client relationships and anticipate business needs.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with FAF (Financial Accounting Framework) workings.
• Familiarity with tax software and portals, including the UAE FTA portal.
