Infectious Disease Specialist

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in the UAE is looking for an experienced Infectious Disease Specialist to work on site. The specialist diagnoses, treats and prevents infectious diseases, provides expert care for patients with complex infections and supports infection prevention practices. The advertised salary range is 480,000 to 600,000.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections
• Evaluate and treat complex infections such as sepsis, tuberculosis and multidrug-resistant infections
• Develop individualized treatment plans and optimize antimicrobial therapy
• Interpret microbiology reports, cultures and other diagnostic investigations
• Support infection prevention and control initiatives
• Advise clinical teams on antimicrobial stewardship and appropriate antibiotic use
• Collaborate with microbiologists, intensivists and other specialists on complex cases
• Monitor treatment outcomes and provide follow-up care
• Maintain accurate medical records and follow clinical protocols

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• MD/DNB in General Medicine or equivalent, with DM/DNB or equivalent specialization in Infectious Diseases
• Minimum 3 years of post-specialization experience preferred
• Experience managing complex infections and antimicrobial therapy
• Strong clinical judgment, analytical and communication skills
