Infrastructure Engineer – Wet Utilities

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer – Wet Utilities to join AECOM’s infrastructure project team in Abu Dhabi. The role involves supervising the construction of wet utility networks such as stormwater drainage, sewerage, potable water and irrigation, ensuring compliance with design and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor construction of wet utility infrastructure works, including pipelines, manholes, catch basins, gullies, culverts and drainage structures.
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs and inspection requests.
• Monitor site progress, quality, workmanship and compliance, and coordinate with contractors, authorities and other disciplines.
• Oversee testing and inspection of wet utility networks and secure required approvals.
• Identify technical issues, construction risks and potential delays, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain records of site inspections, progress, technical issues and construction activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience in infrastructure and wet utilities construction, including stormwater, sewerage, potable water and irrigation networks.
• Strong background in construction supervision, inspection, quality control and coordination with contractors.
• Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
• Experience on major infrastructure projects; UAE authority experience is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, coordination and problem‑solving abilities.
