Inspector - Civil/Finishing

About the role

AECOM is looking for an Inspector - Civil/Finishing in Abu Dhabi. The role covers inspection of architectural works, finishes and building components, monitoring contractor compliance with quality control plans, and reporting on progress and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect architectural works, finishes and building components against approved shop drawings, specifications and method statements, and check placement, location and quality of finishes and structural components.
• Monitor contractor compliance with the approved Quality Control Plan and inspect completed works.
• Review and monitor variations to the work to limit time and cost impacts, and review contractor shop drawings to flag issues affecting stability or function.
• Issue NCRs to contractors and help take corrective action, and prepare accurate inspection reports.
• Monitor safety aspects of architectural installations and report on HSE matters, taking part in HSE training and meetings.
• Maintain site records including daily site diaries, monthly progress photographs, submittals, tests and inspections, and daily logs and reports.
• Liaise with the Senior Architectural Engineer, client and contractors to expedite approvals, NOCs and submissions, and assist in expediting approvals from the client.
• Perform and/or evaluate tests confirming quality requirements of architectural finishes and building components.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 8 years of overall experience in construction supervision with a consultancy, including at least 5 years in the UAE.
• Experience in architectural-type projects.
