Inspector – Pipeline Inspection Team (MERAM/LNG)

About the role

The Inspector will support the MERAM/LNG Inspection Team in the Pipeline Network Division, performing inspections of pipelines, above‑ground piping and static equipment. The role involves technical assistance, non‑destructive testing, and coordination with contractors and GIS engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out inspection activities in line with inspection procedures, HSE Management System and maintenance policies.
• Analyse, interpret and report IPS results, assess pipeline condition and identify corrosion defects.
• Perform dig verifications and internal/external corrosion mapping, recording data in PIMS software.
• Coordinate with GIS engineers for PIMS implementation and with specialised contractors for UT scanning and corrosion monitoring.
• Support pipeline repairs, modifications, welding inspection, painting, coating and wrapping activities.
• Conduct on‑stream visual inspections of above‑ground piping and perform UT thickness monitoring.
• Review and prepare field drawings for baseline UT surveys and estimate painting activities.
• Inspect shutdown activities, participate in Level 1/2 pipeline audits and internal BMS audits.
• Review project documents, perform end‑user inspections during new projects and conduct final walk‑downs.

Required profile

• Technical background in pipeline inspection and non‑destructive testing.
• Experience with corrosion mapping, dig verification and data entry in PIMS.
• Ability to work with inspection contractors and coordinate GIS integration.
• Familiarity with HSE Management Systems, inspection procedures and audit participation.
• Capability to support welding, coating, painting and shutdown activities on pipelines.
