Instrument and Control Maintenance Engineer

About the role

ADNOC Group is looking for an Instrument and Control (I-C) Maintenance Engineer in Abu Dhabi. The engineer plans and supervises maintenance of a wide range of instrument and control systems in the plant, coordinating with operations and other maintenance teams so that these systems remain reliable.

Key responsibilities

• Support operations and maintenance teams with equipment testing, troubleshooting, routine surveillance and start-up activities, and liaise with Mechanical and Electrical sections to integrate operations and maintenance.
• Provide field technical support for critical maintenance activities so problems are resolved with minimum downtime.
• Evaluate, allocate and arrange manpower for daily preventive, breakdown and shutdown maintenance plans, and assess workload and backlog with relevant sections.
• Monitor and control material, spares, consumables and tools to ensure continuous availability.
• Carry out root cause analysis of equipment failures and unscheduled shutdowns and recommend solutions to improve reliability and availability.
• Contribute to planning major maintenance, upgrades and obsolescence issues in line with the division's five-year rolling business plans.
• Support the development, implementation and commissioning of new projects, including mechanical design and specifications, to optimise costs and meet standards and best practices.
• Take part in defining technical requirements, technical bid evaluation and material inspection, and monitor contractor performance for quality and standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation and Control or Electronics, or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in instrument and control engineering and maintenance within a large industrial organisation, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
