Instrumentation & Control Engineer

About the role

The client, a leading pump manufacturer, is looking for an Instrumentation & Control Engineer to support water and wastewater pumping station projects in Dubai. You will be responsible for the full engineering lifecycle, from design through commissioning and hand‑over, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review contract specifications, drawings, BOQs and prepare material, technical submittals, ITPs and commissioning procedures.
• Develop and review P&IDs, instrument lists, I/O lists, cable schedules, loop and termination drawings.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, civil and process teams to ensure proper system integration.
• Supervise installation of field instruments, control panels, cable trays, fibre‑optic systems and related equipment.
• Perform loop checking, FAT, SAT, pre‑commissioning, commissioning and performance testing.
• Prepare as‑built drawings, O&M documentation, testing records and commissioning reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Control or related engineering discipline.
• 5‑7 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering, preferably on water, wastewater or industrial EPC projects.
• Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, HMI and industrial automation.
• Familiarity with IEC, ISA and DEWA standards is an advantage.

Required skills

• PLC programming and configuration.
• SCADA and HMI development.
• Industrial communication protocols: Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC.
• AutoCAD and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Experience with VFDs, MCCs, flowmeters, pressure transmitters, level instruments, analyzers and motorised valves.
