Instrumentation Designer – L2 for Oil & Gas Projects

About the role

PES Group is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Designer (Level 2) to join its engineering team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on designing and developing instrumentation systems for major oil and gas projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, company standards, and international regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for oil & gas projects.
• Prepare, update, and manage instrumentation design documentation and project deliverables.
• Apply engineering standards, design criteria, and company procedures throughout project execution.
• Utilise engineering software such as SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant 3D (SP3D), AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Support hydraulic calculations, thermal design activities and technical verification processes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (piping, electrical, control systems) to resolve design issues and ensure seamless integration.

Required profile

• Proven experience in instrumentation design for oil & gas or related industrial sectors.
• Strong understanding of P&ID development and instrumentation documentation.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety and environmental standards.
