Integration & Test Engineer for Autonomous Vehicles

About the role

We are seeking an Integration & Test Engineer to integrate, commission, test and document SteerAI’s autonomous ground‑vehicle platforms. The role covers the full lifecycle from software integration and vehicle commissioning through field trials, post‑mission reporting and technical documentation, supporting both internal trials and commercial deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate autonomy software and configuration packages into various vehicle platforms, verify builds against release notes, run integration tests and resolve hardware‑software compatibility issues.
• Lead end‑to‑end vehicle commissioning for trial campaigns and customer deployments, performing system health checks, sensor calibration, communication verification and acceptance testing.
• Translate trial objectives into executable test procedures, define success criteria, instrumentation plans and safety boundaries, and manage day‑to‑day test operations in the field.
• Create and maintain user manuals, operator training materials, troubleshooting guides, commissioning checklists and integration procedures; compile mission metrics for operational insight briefs and handover documentation.
• Execute field deployment checklists alongside UGV/C2 operators, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, perform field‑level maintenance and escalate problems to engineering.
• Maintain proficiency in operating UGVs via C2/FMS interfaces and remote control, including real‑time monitoring, telemetry oversight and emergency intervention.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in systems integration, test & evaluation, commissioning or technical operations within defence, aerospace, robotics or autonomous systems.
• Familiarity with autonomous‑vehicle sensor suites (cameras, GNSS, IMU, lidar/radar) and communication systems.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and follow a methodical approach.
