Internal Audit Lead – Financial Crime

About the role

The Internal Audit Lead – Financial Crime will head audit engagements that evaluate the effectiveness of Tabby’s financial crime prevention and compliance frameworks. Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, the role combines deep regulatory knowledge with investigative and data‑analytics expertise to deliver actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute end‑to‑end audits across AML, CTF, sanctions, fraud prevention and CDD/KYC/KYB processes using a risk‑based approach.
• Assess design and operating effectiveness of financial crime controls against CBUAE regulations, internal policies and international best practices.
• Review compliance‑owned processes such as regulatory horizon scanning, change management, monitoring programmes and policy governance.
• Identify control gaps, thematic risks and recommend improvements to strengthen the compliance environment.
• Lead forensic reviews of suspected financial crime or fraud, analysing complex data sets to detect suspicious patterns.
• Apply advanced data‑analytics techniques to uncover anomalies and support continuous monitoring initiatives.
• Prepare and present audit findings and management information to senior management and regulators.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in financial crime compliance, AML/CTF regulations and audit methodologies.
• Strong investigative mindset with proven ability to analyse large, complex data sets.
• Demonstrated independence and objectivity in audit engagements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to senior stakeholders.
