Internal Audit Lead - Financial Risk

About the role

The Lead Auditor – Finance, Treasury & Financial Risk will own end‑to‑end audit engagements across key financial domains, ensuring compliance with IFRS, CBUAE regulations and internal policies. You will plan, execute and report audits while providing actionable insights to strengthen governance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver audits of finance, treasury and financial risk processes, including reporting, accounting, liquidity, funding, investments, payments and tax.
• Independently manage audit life‑cycle from risk assessment and scoping to execution and reporting.
• Evaluate compliance with IFRS, CBUAE requirements and internal policies, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Review treasury frameworks such as cash management, FX exposure and hedging strategies.
• Monitor regulatory developments, fintech trends and incorporate relevant insights into audit coverage.
• Apply advanced data analytics to detect anomalies, emerging risks and control weaknesses.
• Develop data models, dashboards and automation tools to enhance audit planning and continuous monitoring.
• Track remediation of external audit observations and ensure closure.

Required profile

• Strong experience and understanding of finance, accounting, treasury activities and financial risk disciplines.
• Proven ability to lead audit assignments, challenge business processes constructively and deliver actionable recommendations.
• Experience with risk‑based, data‑driven audit approaches.
