Internal Audit Professional

About the role

A detail-oriented Internal Audit professional is sought to join a team in Ajman, United Arab Emirates, on a contract basis within the banking, financial services and insurance sector. You will plan and execute audits to ensure compliance, evaluate internal controls and recommend improvements to governance and risk management. The ideal candidate has 3-4 years of experience and strong technical audit skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, conduct and document internal audits across business units to assess governance, risk management and control processes
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Analyse financial data and operating metrics to identify trends, anomalies and areas for improvement
• Prepare clear audit reports with findings, recommendations and corrective action plans
• Work with stakeholders to develop action plans and monitor the implementation of audit recommendations
• Keep up to date with industry regulations and best practices
• Support external audit activities and coordinate with regulators during inspections

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 3-4 years of experience in internal audit, external audit or risk assurance
• Strong knowledge of governance, risk management and regulatory requirements in the UAE
• Preferred: professional certification such as CIA, CISA, CPA or equivalent

Required skills

• Proficiency in auditing standards, compliance frameworks and internal control methodologies
• Solid accounting and financial reporting skills
• Advanced data analysis, including Excel and audit software
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to present complex information clearly
• Preferred: ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle), IFRS and local tax law knowledge, project management skills
