Internal Auditor

About the role

We are seeking an Internal Auditor to join a fast‑expanding techno‑commercial business operating in the lifting solutions sector. The role goes beyond routine invoice checks; you will provide an independent, evidence‑based view of the company’s processes, controls and governance, helping the organisation grow with stronger accountability.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation of risk‑based annual and periodic internal audit plans.
• Conduct scheduled and surprise audits across departments, branches, warehouses, workshops, projects and operational sites.
• Review the effectiveness of internal controls, approval processes and segregation of duties.
• Evaluate compliance with approved policies, procedures and delegated authority levels.
• Document audit objectives, scope, testing methods, findings and supporting evidence.
• Maintain complete and well‑organised audit working papers.
• Identify control weaknesses, process gaps, irregularities and areas of potential financial or operational exposure.
• Review financial and transactional controls, including revenue, purchasing, payments, expenses, advances, reimbursements, credit notes and other transactions.
• Verify supporting documents, approvals, account coding and adherence to company procedures.
• Examine customer receivables, supplier balances, ageing reports and long‑outstanding items.
• Assess bank reconciliations, petty cash, employee advances and other cash‑related controls.
• Review journal entries, provisions, adjustments and unusual transactions.
