Internal Auditor – Natural Resources & Energy Services

About the role

The Internal Auditor will plan, execute, and manage risk advisory and internal audit engagements across the Oil & Gas, Energy, Metals & Mining, and Manufacturing sectors. You will conduct detailed risk assessments, perform end‑to‑end audit engagements, and evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls and risk‑management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and manage risk advisory and internal audit projects for clients in the natural resources and energy industries.
• Conduct detailed risk assessments to identify operational, financial and compliance risks.
• Perform end‑to‑end internal audit engagements, including fieldwork, testing and reporting.
• Evaluate internal control design, effectiveness and recommend improvements.
• Support the development and implementation of enterprise risk‑management frameworks.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
• Monitor compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Maintain client relationships and contribute to business‑development initiatives.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant, ACCA, CFA or CPA qualification (mandatory).
• Additional certifications such as CIA, CFE, CISA or DISA are a plus.
• Minimum four years of post‑qualification experience in internal audit, ICOFR or risk advisory.
• Proven experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Metals & Mining or Manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of risk‑management principles, internal controls, compliance frameworks and corporate governance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle.
• Experience using audit software tools.
• Data‑analytics capabilities.
• Advanced use of the MS Office suite.
