Investment Director / Managing Director – Impact Private Equity

About the role

This senior position will lead the investment function of a newly created, FOAK private equity platform focused on UN SDG‑aligned growth‑stage businesses in emerging markets. Reporting directly to the CEO and Managing Partner, you will shape the firm’s investment strategy, portfolio construction and impact governance.

Key responsibilities

• Originate and source proprietary deal flow across priority geographies, targeting off‑market opportunities that meet impact and risk‑return criteria.
• Lead end‑to‑end transaction execution, directing multi‑disciplinary due diligence, building complex valuation models and structuring blended‑finance deals.
• Oversee post‑investment portfolio management, hold board seats, monitor KPIs and drive value‑creation initiatives with portfolio companies.
• Design and execute exit strategies to achieve target gross IRR and MOIC, managing sell‑side processes and documentation.
• Embed UN SDG Impact Standards and IRIS+ metrics into every investment, coordinating with the Impact Director for third‑party verification.
• Represent the fund with LPs, DFIs, family offices and sovereign investors, and act as a spokesperson at industry forums.

Required profile

• 10+ years of private equity experience with a strong track record in growth‑equity investments.
• Deep expertise in impact investing, UN SDG‑aligned strategies and emerging‑market PE.
• Advanced academic credentials (MSc, MBA or CFA preferred) and ability to engage senior DFIs, regulators and CEOs.
• Domain knowledge in at least one sector such as climate tech, water infrastructure, energy, food systems, healthcare or education.
