Investment Operations Manager – Abu Dhabi

About the role

The Investment Operations Manager is responsible for managing key components of the investment operations function, ensuring effective execution, strong risk controls, and operational efficiency across the full investment lifecycle. The role oversees operational processes, supports governance, manages complex workflows, and contributes to processing efficiency and transformation initiatives aligned with EIA’s operating model.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end investment operations lifecycle, including trade capture, confirmation, clearing, settlement, reconciliations, corporate actions, and data reporting.
• Maintain strict control frameworks, monitor KPIs and SLAs, and mitigate operational risks such as settlement failures, reconciliation breaks, and counter‑party issues.
• Ensure data integrity across front‑office, middle‑office, custodial and accounting systems, and lead automation and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (front office, finance, risk, compliance, IT) and manage relationships with external service providers such as custodians, fund administrators and brokers.
• Prepare and deliver operational dashboards, KPI reports, incident reports and support governance forums and audit reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related discipline; professional certifications (CFA, CISI, CPA, FRM) are preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in investment operations, asset management or financial services, with proven end‑to‑end operational management across multiple asset classes.
• Strong understanding of operational risk frameworks, regulatory requirements (EMIR, MiFID II, AML/KYC) and internal control environments.
• Experience delivering transformation, automation or system‑implementation projects.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of the investment operations lifecycle for securities, derivatives, cash, liquidity and loan instruments.
• Expertise in trade processing, settlement mechanics, custody models and asset servicing.
• Proficiency in cash management, liquidity flows and accounting principles.
• Working knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards.
