Islamic Studies Teacher

About the role

GEMS Education is seeking a dedicated Islamic Studies Teacher to deliver a high‑quality curriculum to students in Dubai. The role involves planning engaging lessons, supporting diverse learning needs, and fostering a positive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the required curriculum and plan quality lessons that motivate students.
• Create and utilise appropriate materials and classroom settings for different learning styles.
• Maintain accurate records of curriculum plans, attendance, resources, and assessments.
• Teach students according to individual needs, including ESL, gifted, low‑ability and late‑entering learners.
• Set, mark, assess and report on student progress and attainment.
• Integrate media and technology effectively in classroom instruction.
• Promote student well‑being and provide guidance on educational matters.
• Collaborate with colleagues on teaching resources, courses of study and pastoral arrangements.
• Monitor student behaviour, implement self‑discipline strategies and manage disruptions.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress while respecting confidentiality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies.
• Minimum two years of teaching experience in the relevant subject or age group.

Required skills

• Strong subject knowledge in Islamic Studies.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
