Junior Accountant (Immediate Joiner) - Trading/Logistics

About the role

A client in Dubai is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join its team. The role supports day-to-day accounting and financial operations, working closely with the Senior Manager to ensure accurate financial records and timely completion of tasks. The position suits someone with a solid foundation in accounting principles and good analytical skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily accounting operations, including recording financial transactions and maintaining accurate records.
• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support the preparation of financial statements, reports and management accounts.
• Assist with VAT calculations, tax documentation and other tax-related activities.
• Maintain proper filing of invoices, receipts and other financial documents.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Ensure records comply with company policies and applicable UAE regulations, and coordinate with internal departments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial procedures.
• Basic knowledge of UAE VAT and tax regulations is an advantage.
• Good written and spoken English, strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with willingness to learn.
