Junior Data Scientist – Commercial Graduate Scheme (Dubai)

About the role

Cobblestone Energy is offering a full‑time Junior Data Scientist position within its Commercial Graduate Scheme in Dubai. The role sits at the intersection of data science and energy trading, providing visa sponsorship, relocation assistance and a pathway to become a key contributor to trading strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, clean and structure large datasets from market, fundamental and operational sources.
• Develop and validate predictive models (e.g., wind generation, demand) to support trading strategies.
• Prototype, back‑test and refine data‑driven trading ideas; work with analytics and development teams to productionise solutions.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, dashboards and automated tooling to streamline workflows.
• Utilise LLMs and agentic frameworks to accelerate exploratory data analysis, automate data‑cleaning pipelines and generate synthetic data for model robustness.
• Stay current with AI advances (RAG, agents, multimodal models) and propose new applications to trading data.
• Partner with traders, risk managers and software engineers to integrate insights into real‑time decision‑making.
• Maintain clear documentation of methodologies, data definitions and model specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Python and R.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Pandas, NumPy and SQL.
• Knowledge of data visualisation libraries like Matplotlib and Seaborn.
• Hands‑on experience integrating LLMs via APIs, LangChain or Python scripts into data pipelines.
• Proven ability to build custom agents or automated workflows that handle unstructured data.
• Pro‑active, flexible mindset with a keen interest in data‑driven trading.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
