Junior Sous Chef – Italian Restaurant

About the role

The Junior Sous Chef will support the kitchen team at an Italian restaurant within The Ritz‑Carlton Dubai. This entry‑level management position focuses on daily kitchen operations, ensuring high culinary standards, and contributing to guest and employee satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in leading kitchen staff and oversee food production, purchasing, and sanitation.
• Maintain food handling and sanitation standards, ensuring clean work areas.
• Coordinate with restaurant and banquet departments to time service and events.
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including special guest menus.
• Supervise and train cooks, checking raw and cooked food quality.
• Support shift operations, manage supplies, equipment, and uniform distribution.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with 4 years culinary experience, or a 2‑year degree in Culinary Arts/Hotel Management with 2 years experience.
• Strong understanding of kitchen sanitation, food handling, and loss‑prevention policies.
• Ability to lead a team, communicate needs, and follow up on tasks.
