Kitchen Steward – Hotel Kitchen Team

About the role

We are looking for a hardworking, reliable and team‑oriented Kitchen Steward to join our hotel kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen, washing and sanitising kitchen equipment and utensils, and supporting the culinary team with efficient stewarding operations.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen, back‑of‑house and stewarding areas.
• Operate dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment safely and correctly.
• Collect and dispose of kitchen waste according to hotel procedures, following waste segregation and recycling guidelines.
• Clean floors, walls, drains, sinks, refrigerators and other designated areas.
• Assist chefs and kitchen colleagues with cleaning and organising work areas.
• Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning materials and report shortages.
• Support deep‑cleaning activities and scheduled sanitation programmes.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward or in a similar role is preferred.
• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment.
• Good teamwork, communication skills and reliability.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
