Lab Instructor – Computer Information Science (Applied Digital Transformation)

About the role

The Lab Instructor supports faculty and students in the Computer Information Science program by maintaining labs, installing equipment, and providing hands‑on instructional assistance. This position involves up to 10 hours per week of teaching duties and requires close collaboration with academic staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely lab support to faculty, staff and students, including setup for experiments.
• Maintain preventive‑maintenance schedules, manuals and logs for all lab equipment.
• Assemble, install and troubleshoot servers, workstations, routers, switches and related hardware.
• Manage inventory of consumables, track borrowed tools, and coordinate purchases with suppliers.
• Assist faculty during laboratory sessions and help develop teaching materials and student projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of progressive hands‑on experience in hardware and software support.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; Arabic knowledge is a plus.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, Security/Networking, Server or Hardware) are desirable.
• Previous teaching‑assistant experience is preferred.

Required skills

• PC hardware and operating‑system support and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Cisco networking equipment and complex network environments.
• Ability to assemble and configure servers, workstations, routers and switches.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to follow safety and housekeeping procedures.
