Lab Instructor – Early Childhood Education

About the role

The Education Lab Instructor will support pre‑service teachers by delivering hands‑on learning experiences in early childhood education. The role combines strategic contributions to HCT’s educational initiatives with day‑to‑day teaching and laboratory management.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the implementation of HCT’s system‑wide strategy and assist in developing faculty policies.
• Participate in academic, extracurricular and community events, and engage in applied research aligned with national innovation priorities.
• Plan and deliver interactive lab lessons that complement the main course instructor’s curriculum, using diverse teaching methodologies and technology.
• Conduct demonstrations, experiments and provide one‑on‑one guidance to students on projects and assignments.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment and apply effective classroom‑management practices.
• Assess student progress through observations, discussions and performance‑based assessments, recording results for course instructors.
• Ensure health, safety and housekeeping standards in the laboratory, organise equipment and propose procurement as needed.
• Develop and integrate educational technology resources and learning centres within the lab.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a professional certification in a relevant discipline and at least five years of teaching and industry experience.
• Proven experience facilitating laboratory‑based or hands‑on learning programmes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners.
• Strong passion for early childhood education and a commitment to fostering curiosity and lifelong learning.
