Lab Instructor - Engineering (Industrial)

About the role

The Lab Instructor – Engineering (Industrial) will deliver lectures and assessments for diploma‑level engineering courses while managing HCT laboratories and workshops. This combined instructional and hands‑on role ensures that equipment is installed, demonstrated, maintained and troubleshooted effectively, supporting both faculty and students in a practical learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lectures and conduct assessments for diploma‑level engineering subjects, aligning with curriculum standards.
• Set up laboratories for experiments, install new equipment, perform routine maintenance, and keep comprehensive maintenance logs and manuals.
• Support faculty and students in the safe and effective use of machines, tools, and specialized engineering equipment during lab sessions and project work.
• Maintain consumable inventories, monitor stock levels, and reorder supplies to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations.
• Enforce safety and housekeeping protocols, conduct regular inspections, and promote a clean, secure working environment.
• Provide teaching assistance during workshops, act as a student advisor when assigned, and contribute to extracurricular and community activities.

Required profile

• Minimum Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• At least three years of relevant industrial or engineering experience, preferably in an industrial setting.
• Previous short‑span teaching or lecturing experience is desirable.
• Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is considered an advantage.

• Advanced computer literacy to integrate educational technology and digital resources into teaching.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical problem‑solving abilities for laboratory equipment.
• Proficiency in operating and demonstrating laboratory machines, tools, and specialized engineering equipment.
