Laboratory Specialist

About the role

The Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department at United Arab Emirates University is looking for a Laboratory Specialist to support teaching and research laboratories. You will ensure safe, well‑maintained lab environments for undergraduate and graduate sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory experiments and set up equipment for teaching and research.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments, manage calibration and preventive‑maintenance schedules.
• Handle chemicals, consumables, and waste in compliance with safety, labeling and SDS requirements.
• Maintain inventory records, order supplies and keep accurate calibration logs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a closely related field.
• Practical experience in chemical engineering labs, including experiment preparation and equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of chemical safety, storage, labeling, waste management and emergency procedures.
• Good English communication, documentation and teamwork skills.
