Land Surveyor - Bridge/Tunnel

About the role

AECOM is looking for a Land Surveyor for its infrastructure project team in Abu Dhabi. The post holder carries out surveying and setting-out for bridge, tunnel and associated infrastructure works, ensuring accurate alignment, levels, coordinates and dimensions in line with approved drawings and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out setting-out and surveying works for bridges, tunnels and associated infrastructure.
• Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, coordinates and reference levels.
• Survey bridge foundations, piling, pile caps, abutments, piers, retaining walls, decks and other structural elements.
• Carry out tunnel surveys for excavation, structural works, waterproofing and drainage.
• Verify line, level, alignment, elevations, dimensions and coordinates of construction works.
• Conduct topographic, as-built and verification surveys as required.
• Coordinate with the Resident Engineer, inspectors, Contractor and engineering team to resolve surveying issues.
• Monitor construction to ensure compliance with approved drawings and survey requirements.
• Carry out quantity and progress surveys where required.
• Prepare survey reports, records, calculations and as-built information, review Contractor survey data and ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in surveying for bridge, tunnel and major infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience in construction setting-out, structural works, earthworks and infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and coordinate information.
• Experience preparing as-built surveys and survey reports.
• UAE experience on major infrastructure projects is preferred.

Required skills

• Total Station, GNSS/GPS and Auto Level operation.
• AutoCAD and relevant survey software.
