Lead Auditor - Certification Department

About the role

Bureau Veritas do Brasil is hiring a Lead Auditor for its Certification Department in Abu Dhabi. The position reports to the Operations Lead and the Certification Manager and works closely with the Certification Manager, Technical Manager, Operations Lead, other senior lead auditors and auditors, sales and technical teams, customers and project management consultants, and business unit heads.

Key responsibilities

• Perform external audits in line with ISO standards, including planning, conducting and executing the full certificate cycle
• Manage clients during audits: set expectations, give regular updates, handle NCRs and complete reports
• Submit completed reports to the technical centre for approval and follow up on technical queries
• Plan and schedule audits, track progress and communicate plans and schedules
• Work impartially and without conflict of interest, following accreditation and HSE requirements
• Complete regular technical and HSE training and take part in audit observations
• Meet performance targets such as audit completion, HSE adherence, report completeness and defects

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience successfully planning, executing and completing audits for IMS/QHSE/BCMS for marine, oil and gas clients
• Fluency in English and Arabic
• Bachelor's or Master's degree; preferred: qualified auditor for QHSE BCMS, EnMS and AMS
• Knowledge of management systems, ISO HLS, ISO 17021, IAF and accreditation requirements, and industry classifications
• Ability to work independently, manage clients and teams, and solve problems proactively
