Lead Auditor – UAE

About the role

Remitly is seeking a Lead Auditor for its UAE legal entity, based in Abu Dhabi. The role will head the internal audit function across the UAE entity and provide regional and global audit coverage, working closely with global colleagues and co‑source partners.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation and operation of the internal audit assurance framework, including continuous monitoring and data‑driven techniques.
• Develop the annual audit plan, update the audit universe, conduct risk assessments, and manage budgeting and scheduling.
• Lead audit engagements from scoping and planning through fieldwork, findings development, and reporting.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations, measure remediation effectiveness, and report to oversight committees.
• Build and maintain relationships with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Operations, Product, Engineering, the local regulator, and the Board.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to embed a strong control culture and promote assurance practices.
• Oversee co‑source partner engagements, ensuring alignment with GAA methodology and quality expectations.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead internal audit functions and engagements in a regulated environment.
• Experience interacting directly with regulators and board members.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
