Lead Backend Engineer, Trading Risk

About the role

Bybit is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to own the design, development, and operation of backend systems for Trading Risk. You will drive the creation of reliable, high‑performance services that monitor risk, generate alerts, and provide data platform capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services for risk monitoring, alerting, and data platforms.
• Build and optimise real‑time data processing pipelines with a focus on reliability, performance, observability and data consistency.
• Own projects end‑to‑end, from technical design through integration, rollout and production troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Risk, Data Platform and other engineering teams on cross‑functional initiatives.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews and continuous improvement of engineering quality.

Required profile

• Strong backend engineering fundamentals and solid understanding of distributed systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Kafka, databases, caching, concurrency and data consistency.
• Proven problem‑solving, system design, project ownership and production troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.

Required skills

• Go (or willingness to work primarily in Go).
• C++ or Java.
• Kafka.
• Databases and caching technologies.
• Concurrency handling and data consistency mechanisms.
• Real‑time data processing frameworks (e.g., Flink, CDC/Binlog).
• Experience with ClickHouse or Doris is a plus.
