Lead Commissioning Engineer

About the role

The Lead Commissioning Engineer will oversee all electrical commissioning activities for NMDC Energy projects in Abu Dhabi. This senior position ensures that commissioning tasks are executed to the highest technical and safety standards while coordinating with internal teams and the client.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily commissioning activities, including SAT, energisation and functional testing of electrical systems.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers, supervisors and technicians, resolving complex issues on‑site.
• Coordinate with QA/QC to guarantee compliance with company quality procedures and HSE standards.
• Prepare and review method statements, procedures and testing documentation.
• Lead vendor interactions, monitor spare supplies and ensure readiness for subsystem testing.
• Analyse technical discrepancies, initiate corrective actions and report progress to management.
• Participate in internal and client audit requests and maintain audit records.
• Document lessons learned and feed back design improvements for future projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant oil‑and‑gas experience, including at least 4 years in a commissioning leadership role.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage vendor activities.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, HSE compliance and audit procedures.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with clients and internal stakeholders.
