Lead Imaging Consultant

About the role

The Lead Imaging Consultant will champion the hospital’s imaging strategy, ensuring that all clinical imaging systems operate reliably, securely, and in line with patient‑care standards. This senior position reports to IT leadership and works closely with radiology, cardiology and other clinical teams to optimise workflows and technology investments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical administration, configuration, integration and optimisation of PACS, RIS, VNA, enterprise viewers and related imaging applications.
• Define imaging system standards, operating procedures, governance controls and technology roadmaps aligned with clinical priorities.
• Analyse end‑to‑end imaging workflows and drive optimisation initiatives to improve turnaround time, diagnostic user experience and patient safety.
• Oversee DICOM, HL7, FHIR, IHE and API integrations between imaging platforms, modalities, EMR and external health information exchanges.
• Manage incident response, system performance monitoring and 24/7 support to maintain uninterrupted diagnostic services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Medical Imaging, Radiologic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering or related field.
• Master’s degree or professional certification in PACS administration, imaging informatics, DICOM/HL7, project management or cybersecurity is preferred.
• Current or prior registration in Radiologic Technology or another clinical imaging discipline is advantageous.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of PACS, RIS, VNA, enterprise viewers and modality worklist management.
• Expertise in DICOM, HL7, FHIR, IHE and API‑based integration with EMR and clinical systems.
• Experience with data migration, lifecycle management, secure image exchange and encryption.
• Familiarity with JCI standards, International Patient Safety Goals, DHA regulations and hospital accreditation processes.
