Lead Instrumentation & Control Engineer – Greenfield Projects

About the role

Lead and manage all instrumentation, control, automation, telecom and safety system engineering activities for ADNOC offshore greenfield and brownfield projects. Ensure designs meet ADNOC Offshore standards, international codes, safety and quality requirements throughout FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the instrumentation and control engineering team during FEED, EPC and execution phases.
• Plan, coordinate and review all deliverables, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with process, mechanical, electrical, civil, telecom and HSE disciplines.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to senior engineers, engineers and designers.
• Develop and review instrument index, datasheets, I/O lists, hook‑up drawings, cable schedules, installation details, location plans, wiring and loop diagrams.
• Review instrument selection for hazardous offshore environments, including pressure transmitters, temperature instruments, flow meters, level instruments, analyzers, control valves, on‑off valves and safety devices.
• Lead control systems engineering for DCS, ESD, fire & gas systems, PLC, SCADA and integrated control & safety systems.
• Review cause‑and‑effect matrices, shutdown philosophies and ensure proper interfaces among all control and safety systems.
• Participate in architecture reviews and cybersecurity assessments.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering for offshore oil & gas projects.
• Proven leadership of FEED/EPC teams and strong knowledge of ADNOC offshore standards and international codes.
• Experience selecting and qualifying instruments for hazardous environments.
• Ability to mentor engineers and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluent English communication skills.
