About the role
The Lead LDAR/Fugitive Emission Team is responsible for planning, executing and assuring the quality of fugitive emission monitoring, detection and mitigation programmes across the Middle East, Caspian and Africa region. Reporting to the Environment & Decarbonization Manager, the role serves as the technical authority on leak detection and emissions reduction methodologies.
Key responsibilities
- Lead methane and VOC monitoring programmes using US EPA Method 21, OGI (NSPS), QOGI and advanced quantification tools.
- Oversee site‑level measurement campaigns aligned with OGMP 2.0 methodologies and select appropriate detection technologies such as Hi‑Flow Sampler, TDLAS/LiDAR drones, and EPA‑approved instruments.
- Validate calibration and performance of monitoring equipment and ensure QA/QC of field data in line with ISO 14064‑1 and internal procedures.
- Direct leak detection, tagging, classification and root‑cause analysis following FEM/LDAR and EPA protocols.
- Prepare and approve LDAR/FEM reports, emissions inventories and OGMP 2.0 Level 4‑5 reporting packages.
- Provide technical coaching on OGI/QOGI, drone‑based measurement and OGMP 2.0 methodologies while managing client communication and regulatory interpretation.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Petroleum or related engineering discipline.
- 8–10 years of experience in methane/VOC emissions monitoring, LDAR programmes or environmental compliance within the oil & gas sector.
- Proven hands‑on expertise with Method 21, OGI, QOGI and drone‑based methane detection systems, and ability to lead field teams on complex projects.
- Willingness to travel regionally and be present on‑site (offshore or onshore) as required for field activities.
