Lead Mobile Developer (FinTech)

About the role

Our client, a leading FinTech, is looking for a Lead Mobile Developer to own the direction, architecture and delivery of its mobile SDKs and applications for iOS and Android. The role is based in Abu Dhabi with a hybrid work model and involves hands‑on technical leadership on mission‑critical authentication technology used by major banks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design and delivery of a high‑performance mobile SDK used inside tier‑one banking apps.
• Set engineering standards, guide tooling decisions (native vs cross‑platform) and raise the bar for mobile quality.
• Mentor and manage a small team of mobile engineers.
• Own the full lifecycle: design, build, test, release and monitoring.
• Integrate with backend identity and fraud‑detection APIs (REST/JSON, OAuth, SAML).
• Collaborate with product and design to create secure, low‑friction user journeys.
• Champion CI/CD, automation and mobile security best practices.
• Stay ahead of iOS/Android OS changes, mobile security trends and identity‑tech developments.
• Work closely with telco‑related integrations, including SIM‑card setup, device‑level identity signals and telco APIs.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading mobile engineering teams.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in iOS (Swift/Objective‑C) and solid capability in Android (Kotlin/Java); iOS‑leaning preferred.
• Deep understanding of mobile architecture, secure coding and performance optimisation.
• Experience shipping and maintaining production apps or SDKs at scale.
• Excellent communication skills across engineering, product and design.
