Lead Planning Engineer - Construction

About the role

The Lead Planning Engineer will drive the planning, scheduling and control of large‑scale Oil & Gas construction projects for KBR in Abu Dhabi, later transitioning to the Ruwais site. This role ensures integrated project schedules cover all phases from engineering to start‑up, supporting the delivery of high‑quality, on‑time assets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, scheduling, monitoring and control of large‑scale Oil & Gas construction projects, developing integrated schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start‑up.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, procurement, construction and subcontractor teams to establish baselines, monitor progress, perform critical‑path and schedule‑risk analyses and propose mitigation measures.
• Prepare look‑ahead plans, progress reports, S‑curves, manpower histograms and performance dashboards to ensure accurate progress measurement and forecasting.
• Support project controls through earned‑value analysis, delay analysis, recovery planning, extension‑of‑time claims and management reporting while complying with client requirements and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Lead Planning Engineer on Oil & Gas EPC projects, with overall 20 + years EPC execution experience.
• Proven experience on mega FEED/EPC projects in gas processing/NGL and detailed engineering.

Required skills

• PMI‑SP Scheduling Professional certification.
• PMP Project Management Professional certification.
• AACE Certified Cost Professional (CCP) certification.
• Primavera P6 Professional certification.
• Strong knowledge of gas processing, NGL, and Oil & Gas EPC/FEED processes.
