Lead Process Engineer – Offshore Subsea Project

About the role

The Lead Process Engineer is responsible for leading process engineering activities for offshore oil and gas production facilities, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient design and operation throughout the project lifecycle. The role provides technical leadership during Concept, FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, commissioning, start‑up, and operational support phases, complying with ADNOC standards and HSE requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead process engineering activities for offshore oil and gas facilities, including platforms, wellhead towers, central processing facilities, and subsea developments.
• Develop and review process design deliverables such as Process Flow Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, cause‑effect diagrams, and design basis documents.
• Perform process simulations, heat and material balances, hydraulic studies, and equipment sizing; optimize separation, dehydration, compression, produced water treatment, utility, flare and relief systems.
• Support concept selection, FEED, detailed engineering, EPC and brownfield projects; review contractor deliverables and participate in bid evaluations.
• Lead HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA and risk assessments; ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE and international safety standards.
• Provide technical support to offshore operations, troubleshoot process issues, and support modifications, management of change and optimization initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering (Master’s degree advantageous).
• Chartered Engineer (CEng), Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of process engineering experience in oil & gas, with at least 5 years in a lead or senior role.
• Extensive experience on offshore facilities and FEED/EPC/brownfield projects, preferably with ADNOC or major IOCs in the Middle East.

Required skills

• Process simulation and modeling (Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, Pipesim, OLGAFlaresim, Aspen Flare System Analyzer, UniSim).
• Equipment sizing, heat and material balance calculations, and design of separation, dehydration, compression, water treatment, utility, flare and relief systems.
• Process safety studies: HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, risk assessments, relief valve sizing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Power BI preferred.
