Lead Procurement Engineer – Offshore Water Injection Project

About the role

The Lead Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing and executing procurement activities for a major Offshore Water Injection Project, ensuring timely acquisition of materials, equipment, and services in line with project specifications, budget and schedule. The position is based in Abu Dhabi with planned relocation to the Spain office before returning to Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Lead procurement activities for major equipment packages and bulk materials related to offshore water injection facilities.
• Prepare and implement project procurement plans, sourcing strategies, and purchasing schedules aligned with project milestones.
• Prepare RFQs, ITBs, evaluate commercial bids and produce recommendation reports.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, delivery schedules, warranties and payment conditions.
• Review and negotiate procurement contracts and purchase orders, manage variation orders and contractual correspondence.
• Monitor supplier manufacturing progress and coordinate expediting, inspection and logistics to ensure on‑time delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• 15‑18+ years of procurement experience in Oil & Gas, EPC or offshore projects, including at least 5 years in a Lead Procurement Engineer or Procurement Lead role.
• Proven track record delivering procurement packages for offshore upstream facilities, water injection projects, platforms, FPSOs or subsea developments.
• Professional procurement certification (CIPS, CPSM) is advantageous.

Required skills

• Procurement of Water Injection Pumps, Seawater Lift Pumps, Filtration and Deaeration Systems.
• Experience with Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Offshore Structural Materials, Piping, Valves and Fittings (PVF).
• Knowledge of Electrical Equipment, Instrumentation & Control Systems, Subsea and Offshore Equipment Packages.
• Contract negotiation, commercial bid evaluation, supplier pre‑qualification and expediting logistics.
