Lead Procurement (UAE National)

About the role

Mashreq is looking for a UAE national to manage and lead the non-technology vertical of corporate procurement (CPD) globally and run strategic sourcing initiatives for HR services, facilities management, marketing and professional services. The role carries full responsibility and accountability for the team and its outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of professionals on strategic sourcing.
• Assign new projects and RFPs within the non-technology procurement team.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness and reliable service.
• Understand business requirements so that CPD delivers the expected quality, quantity, vendor and end-user satisfaction and bottom-line results.
• Resolve stakeholder queries and concerns.
• Explore automation, modernization and simplification of processes with a cost-effective, value-added approach.
• Manage the procurement workflow and ensure purchase orders are issued correctly.
• Optimize the procure-to-pay process to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Business graduate, preferably with procurement certifications such as CIPS or SPSM.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience leading a procurement function, with the last 4 years in a similar position in a service or banking industry.
• Familiarity with local market dynamics and regional and international markets.
• Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, relationship and people management, and networking skills.
