Lead Product Designer - AI-Native Products

About the role

Cercli is an AI-native HRIS that consolidates employee data, onboarding, contracts, compensation and more into one system, and is rebuilding HR software around AI agents. It is looking for a Lead Product Designer to own the user experience of interacting with AI within the Cercli platform, guiding an AI-native product from concept through launch and iteration. The role is mostly hands-on design for the most critical AI products, and as the team grows involves hiring and mentoring one to two designers and setting the company-wide design standard.

Key responsibilities

• Own new AI-native products end-to-end, from discovery through launch and iteration, then move on to the next agentic module.
• Design the collaboration between humans and AI agents, defining when agents act autonomously, ask for input or hand control back.
• Build interfaces for approvals, undo, confidence indicators and explanations to build trust in AI handling sensitive payroll and people data.
• Prototype with live LLM outputs (not placeholders) to test real failures, latency and edge cases before engineering is involved.
• Define patterns for imperfect AI output: streaming responses, partial results, hallucination recovery, citations, feedback and graceful fallbacks.
• Define and track success metrics for AI flows with product management, analyse funnel and session data and iterate.
• Elevate the design system with AI-specific patterns, run design critiques and recruit and mentor future designers.

Required profile

• 7+ years designing B2B or complex SaaS products, as lead or most senior designer.
• At least one AI-native product or major AI feature shipped from problem framing to live users.
• Strong point of view on agent UX: autonomy, human-in-the-loop review, trust, transparency and error recovery.
• Systems thinking for dense, data-heavy workflows; proficiency with product metrics and analytics/experiments.
• Excellent written and spoken English, founder/owner mindset and ability to work independently.
• Nice to have: HR tech, payroll or fintech experience; hiring or mentoring designers; front-end skills (React, Tailwind).
