Lead Quality Assurance Engineer - Emiratisation

About the role

Emirates is hiring a Lead Quality Assurance Engineer for its Product Engineering team in Dubai. The role designs, develops and implements quality engineering practices and processes for a team within an agile release train, in line with quality standards and best practice, and ensures modern delivery practices are adopted for quality products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Work with project members, technical product owners, architects and software engineers to turn functional and non-functional requirements into robust end-to-end tests covering the business process.
• Liaise with other release train teams to coordinate testing of cross-dependencies.
• Ensure test tools are configured correctly so that metrics can be collected for program and enterprise dashboards.
• Support and guide software engineers in writing and maintaining automated functional tests through continuous integration, and implement, maintain and adapt automation frameworks and test harnesses.
• Make sure quality gate requirements are understood by the team and met.
• Support the Principal Quality Assurance Engineer in coordinating major delivery initiatives across domains and environments, with no customer or business impact.
• Help the team develop, train and understand technologies and processes.

Required profile

• Degree or Honours (12+3) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent degree and relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience creating and maintaining large-scale test data frameworks for test automation.
• 3+ years of experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Postman, Protractor, Jasmine, Cucumber, Gherkin, JUnit, TestNG.
• Experience with Git, GitHub or Bitbucket and with CI tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Strong expertise in context-driven and exploratory testing, and in building automation frameworks from scratch for UI and API testing integrated with CI pipelines.
• Experience with VMs and containers on-premise and in the cloud (Amazon and Google Cloud).

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least two programming languages, preferably JavaScript and Java.
• Coding best practices and coding guidelines.
• Leadership role.
