Lead Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Quantity Surveyor to act as the Post‑Contract Commercial Lead on high‑value projects. The role involves managing a junior commercial team and overseeing all post‑contract commercial activities from tender assessment to final account closure.

Key responsibilities

• Assess tender Bill of Quantities (BOQ) against Issued For Construction (IFC) documents and update BOQ accordingly.
• Float enquiries, obtain final offers from the supply chain and adjudicate updated quotations.
• Prepare sub‑contract and purchase orders, including drawings, programmes and BOQs.
• Detect and manage variations and contract changes in liaison with the project team.
• Negotiate and conclude variations, claims and extensions of time with subcontractors and clients.
• Prepare monthly project valuations and ensure timely submission to the employer.
• Procure necessary insurances and bonds, and issue monthly payment certificates to subcontractors.
• Administer contract notices, manage defect liability period matters and finalize subcontractor and employer accounts.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in a construction discipline or equivalent.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience, with at least 7 years in post‑contract quantity surveying.
• Demonstrated ability to guide and motivate junior commercial staff.
