Lead Teacher - Reggio Emilia Nursery

About the role

A Reggio Emilia-inspired nursery acquired by HEI UAE in August 2024 is looking for a Lead Teacher in Dubai. The teacher runs the daily activities and designs and implements the class's educational programme, supervises teaching assistants and nannies, and creates learning experiences that support children's intellectual, emotional, social and physical development in a safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan weekly lessons and prepare materials, adapting methods to children's needs and interests
• Teach listening, language, mathematics, science and technology, and organise arts, music, drama, storytelling and imaginative play
• Supervise and evaluate teaching assistants and nannies, and supervise indoor and outdoor play
• Maintain daily attendance registers, student records and termly reports and portfolios
• Set behaviour rules, teach hygiene and social skills, and identify children needing extra support
• Hold regular parent meetings and communicate progress by phone when needed
• Take part in staff meetings, training and teamwork, and help run the school's policies
• Manage classroom costs, inventory and reporting of lost or damaged materials

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (NCFE CACHE Level 3 accepted); desired: Early Childhood Education degree
• At least 2 years working with children in a nursery or early learning setting; desired: 3-5 years and experience supervising others
• Fluent English and knowledge of the Swedish curriculum and child-centred education philosophy
