Learning Support Assistant

About the role

The Learning Support Assistant (LSA) at Smart Vision School supports students with diverse learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop confidence. Working closely with teachers and inclusion staff, the LSA contributes to an inclusive, positive learning environment aligned with UAE and UK education standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers in delivering lessons and activities.
• Provide individualised or small‑group assistance for students of determination, ELL learners, and other diverse needs.
• Adapt resources and use effective strategies and technologies to engage students with the curriculum.
• Monitor and record student progress, reporting observations to teachers and contributing to IEPs and learning plans.
• Promote positive behaviour, respect and inclusion, and safeguard students by reporting concerns.
• Collaborate with teachers, inclusion staff and other LSAs, and attend training on SEND, inclusion and safeguarding.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children in an educational setting.
• Knowledge of inclusive practices, differentiation and classroom management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy and an understanding of children’s needs.
• Awareness of safeguarding, child protection and wellbeing requirements.
